Youthzone Sustainable Enterprise Development

About Us

Youthzone Sustainable Enterprise Development, a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2016, based in Siyandhani village outside of Giyani, Limpopo Province. The organisation’s primary focus is empowering youth and women through job preparedness, career guidance, and development initiatives aimed at poverty alleviation.

The organisation prioritizes young women and men, who are disproportionately affected by unemployment and those whose human rights are violated including victim of gender-based violence (GBV). Collaborating with the Siyandhani Tribal Authority, SAPS, and local not-for-profit organisations, they address GBV concerns. Their partnership culminates in an annual August event, commemorating women and educating them on their rights.

    Key Focus Area

    • Capacity building on the prevention of gender-based violence and sexual abuse.
    • Provision of awareness and dialogues in responding to gender-based violence.
    • Direct referrals of survivors of GBV to acquire counselling, legal support and other social support services.

These initiatives align with FHR Masibambisane’s mission of fostering social justice and reducing violence through community-driven efforts

    Impact and Achievements

    • Launched a GBV awareness campaign with local stakeholders, including schools and the Siyandhani Tribal Authority, receiving positive community feedback.
    • Facilitated a successful stakeholder meeting, fostering increased collaboration with local authorities and organisations to combat GBV.
    • Utilized multimedia platforms, such as Giyani Community Radio, to raise awareness about GBV and its impact.

    • Hosted an annual flagship event in August to commemorate National Women’s Month in collaboration with Siyandhani Tribal Authority.
