Protocol to the Treaty Establishing the African Economic Community Relating to the Pan-African Parliament

The Member States of the Organization of African Unity State Parties to the Treaty Establishing the African Economic Community: Bearing in mind the Sirte Declaration adopted at the Fourth Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government held in the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on 9.9.99 establishing the African Union and calling for the speedy establishment of the institutions provided for in the Treaty establishing the African Economic Community signed in Abuja, Nigeria, on 3 June, 1991 and the establishment of the Pan-African Parliament by the year 2000.
