CREATE PROJECT – PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION CELEBRATING THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, APRIL TO MAY 2011
Three people with disability and the mother of a son with disability attended a photojournalism course with a professional photographer – in the Umgungundhlovo district of KwaZulu-Natal. The delegates were instructed to take photographs with digital cameras and edit a narrative, illustrating one or two articles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities. The photographs were printed onto banners, later displayed in an exhibition. Two participants in the workshop have been offered work in the community.
